BMW Team RLL Finishes Fourth and Fifth at Cadillac Grand Prix of Sebring

Woodcliff Lake, N.J. – July 18, 2020 . . . BMW Team RLL finished fourth and fifth in today’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Cadillac Grand Prix of Sebring. Connor De Phillippi and Bruno Spengler equaled their fourth-place finish two weeks ago at Daytona in the No. 25 BMW M8 GTE, finishing just over one minute behind the winning No. 4 Corvette C8.R. John Edwards and Jesse Krohn finished fifth in the No. 24 BMW M8 GTE. Today’s finish was the second consecutive disappointing result for the team that won the Rolex 24 At Daytona in January. A combination of fuel saving and overall lack of pace compromised the team’s performance. BMW falls to third in the GTLM class Manufacturer points standings. John Edwards and Jesse Krohn stand third in GTLM Driver points and Connor De Phillippi and Bruno Spengler stand sixth.

John Edwards, Driver No. 24 BMW M8 GTE (P5): “It was a tough day for us as we struggled for pace. The yellow helped our strategy, but it was not enough. We’ll put our heads down and look to rebound in two weeks at Road America, one of my favorite circuits in North America.”

Jesse Krohn, driver No. 24 BMW M8 GTE (P5): “Everyone tried their hardest today, but whatever we did was not enough to get a good result. I don’t think we could have done anything different.”
