BMW the fastest in GTLM in Sebring day 1 tests

Action has started at Sebring International Raceway. The famous Florida circuit played host to two IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship test sessions on Thursday. The GT Le Mans (GTLM) class was represented by five cars.



BMW Team RLL topped the GTLM time sheets with the factory #25 BMW M6. Bill Auberlen, Lucas Luhr, John Edwards Dirk Werner and Kuno Wittmer set the fastest time in class with 1:58.780.



Ferrari was the second fastest in GTLM. The #62 Ferrari 488 GTE from Risi Competizione set a best time of 1:59.073 with drivers Toni Vilander and Davide Rigon.



The top-three in GTLM was completed by the #911 Porsche 911 RSR. Porsche North America drivers Patrick Pilet and Fredéric Makowiecki set a best time of 1:59.170.



The two cars from Ford Chip Ganassi Racing were fourth and fifth. The #67 Ford GT driven by 67 Ryan Briscoe, Richard Westbrook and Scott Dixon was fourth (1:59.921). The sister #66 car of Joey Hand, Dirk Müller and Sébastien Bourdais was fifth (1:59.973).
